Sean is the CEO of Babajob.com, which along with its sister site, babalife.com seek to connect employers to informal sector employers through people they know. Uniquely, when an employer hires someone on babajob.com, babajob compensates whoever registered the job seeker and up to 2 people that connect the employee to the employer. The Bangalore-based company has garnered approximately 9500 users since its August 2007 launch and been profiled by the New York Times as a significant innovation that "seeks to bring the social-networking revolution to the world's poor" (Oct 30, 2007 http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/30/technology/30poor.html).
Prior to founding Babajob, Sean spent 9 years with Microsoft, starting in the Office group, owning features such as Messenger integration, speech recognition and what was to later become the Vista sidebar. In 2002, Sean moved to the Windows Vista User Experience team, designing the IM experience and how Windows represents people to end users. In 2004, Sean moved to Bangalore as the 3rd founding member of Microsoft Research India, heading the Program Management and Advanced Prototyping team, focusing on novel approaches to technology in emerging markets and new strategies in the mobile phone space. Prior to his years at Microsoft, Sean also worked at the White House with the Internet Policy czar, Ira Magaziner and in Boston with the Lotus Corporation (now IBM). Sean holds dual bachelor degrees in Computer Science and Public Policy from Brown University (1998).
